Getting Started

A short call or message is the fastest way to get clarity. Tell us what you love photographing and where you feel stuck—we’ll point you to the right experience, mentoring path, or next step. Need a quick answer right now? Use Scout in the lower-left corner. For a personal conversation, contact us or book a call.
Use the pace levels and descriptions on the What to Expect and Experiences pages. When in doubt, lean toward the easier pace or reach out—we’ll help you choose so you show up confident. Scout can help you narrow options; for a tailored recommendation, book a call.
Yes. A quick call or message is often the best way to get clarity. Use Book a Call to schedule, or contact us with your questions. No pressure—we’re happy to help you find the right fit.
It depends on your goals and schedule. Mentoring is great for ongoing growth; outings and workshops give you a focused block of field time and feedback. Tell us what you’re after and we’ll point you to the best first step.
Usually yes if capacity allows. Some experiences are kept small on purpose. Message us and we’ll confirm what’s possible.

Skill & Support

No. Most experiences are designed for all levels, with coaching that scales. If a session is advanced (e.g. birds-in-flight, astro), we label it clearly. You’re not expected to know everything—that’s why you’re here.
Very common concern. The pace, small groups, and 1:1 time are designed so you can ask questions and get support without pressure. We teach in layers—beginners get clarity and confidence; experienced shooters get deeper strategy. No judgment—just progress.
Yes. Many participants are in the same boat. We’ll help you get back into the flow without making it stressful. Pick an experience that matches your comfort; we’d rather you finish the day strong than feel overwhelmed.
Real 1:1 time is built into the day for many experiences—settings checks, gear tweaks, and a focus plan for your next shoot. You’re not lost in the crowd. We keep groups small so you get attention when it matters.
Yes. It’s not mostly self-guided. You get live coaching, repositioning help, and real-time decisions while you shoot. The priority in the field is your images—not the instructor’s.

Gear & Prep

No. Bring what you have. Mirrorless or DSLR is great; you can still learn a lot with a basic setup. If you want gear guidance, tell us what you shoot and your budget—we’ll suggest a smart next step.
Yes. Bring what you have and can use comfortably. We’ll help you get stronger results with it. Coaching matters more than status gear.
Absolutely. We work with what you bring—settings, autofocus, composition, and workflow. The goal is to make the most of your kit, not to push you toward new purchases.
You can still participate. We’ll adapt the coaching to your setup. For wildlife, the longest lens you have is fine; we’ll give you a clear list per event. If you’re considering a rental or upgrade, we can point you in a sensible direction.
The What to Expect page covers rhythm, pace, fitness, gear, and weather. You’ll also get event-specific guidance when you register. Layers, comfortable shoes, and a rain layer are a good baseline. When in doubt, ask—we keep it simple.

Workshops & Physical

It varies by experience. We include a clear pace level (Easy, Moderate, Active) on each experience. Many sessions are boardwalks or short walks; some involve sand, uneven ground, or longer walks. When in doubt, ask—we’ll help you pick the right fit.
Choose an Easy Pace experience and bring a folding stool if that helps. Tell us early and we’ll build in breaks and pacing. We’d rather you finish the day strong than push past your comfort. For specific concerns, reach out—we’re happy to discuss options.
Meet and fuel, morning shoot, midday reset, 1:1 and classroom time, then evening shoot. You’re never just watching—you’re shooting, locking in the why, then applying it. The What to Expect page breaks this down in detail.
Usually yes if capacity allows. Some experiences are kept small on purpose. Message us and we’ll confirm what’s possible.

Use the Book a Call page to schedule a consult. For private workshops or speaking, we’ll confirm scope, date, and details, then finalize. For group experiences, you’ll see the option to register or join a waitlist on the experience page.
You’ll get confirmation and event-specific details—what to bring, where to meet, and what to expect. For travel workshops, we’ll share preparation and packing guidance so you show up ready.
Yes. Reach out via contact or book a short call. We’re happy to clarify pricing, pacing, or fit before you commit.
It depends on the experience (e.g. local outing vs. travel). The full policy is on the Policies page. When in doubt, ask before you book—we’re happy to clarify.
